Leading with Kindness
We know real heroes act upon their values. This week, Winn-Dixie took up Tyler Perry’s challenge by offering free groceries to COVID-19 frontline workers across the southeastern United States. Winn-Dixie, like many other grocery chains, set aside Monday and Tuesday evenings for these heroes to shop. Little did they know that when they checked out their grocery tab would be covered.
“Our heroic health care professionals and first responders are on the front line every day as they work tirelessly to make our communities safer, and we want to do our part to thank them,” said Anthony Hucker, the president and CEO of Southeastern Grocers.

Last week, Tyler Perry @tylerperry astounded seniors by paying their grocery tabs in Alabama and Georgia, thousands of shoppers at dozens of #Kroger and #WynnDixie stores in Atlanta and New Orleans. Felix Turner, the Atlanta spokesman for #Kroger said, “We would like to join our customers in thanking Mr. Perry for his kindness and generosity during this unprecedented pandemic. It was truly a pleasure to see our customers fill with joy and gratitude as the news spread throughout 44 stores across metro Atlanta.”
